I work with small and micro organisations in the not for profit sector, including community groups, CICs and charities. 

All of my clients are local and hyper-local organisations, connecting and empowering people in their community. They deliver a really wide variety of services, including but not limited to arts, community development, health and wellbeing, employability and youth work.

Everyone I work with saw a need and decided to help. I help them get funding ready, raise money for their activities, and evaluate their impact. 

I collaborate with associate fundraisers who have, where possible, lived and/or professional experience of the causes they are fundraising for.

My approach

Simple
What’s required in larger organisations isn’t necessarily right for small ones. I like to keep things simple, practical and proportionate to your capacity and resources. I will never write strategy documents you won’t use or set up data collection systems which are too resource intensive for you to manage. 

Forward facing
Being small shouldn’t mean being less ambitious, but it’s easy to get stuck in delivery and really hard to come up for air, and look at the bigger picture. Over our time together I will encourage and support you to be braver with your vision in a way which is manageable for your time and resources.

Bigger picture
As a small organisation it’s particularly easy to find yourself stuck in a cycle of short-term project funding, over-extend, and start to experience mission drift as you chase different funders requirements. I can work with you to look at your whole income mix, grow new funding streams and focus on multi-year, core funding.

• Strategy: I can work with you to draw up a simple and effective fundraising strategy for your organisation.
  
  
• Corporate & Individual Giving: I can help you set up a small and medium donations scheme and put the infrastructure in place to help you manage relationships with your donors
  
  
• Bid writing: I can help you be more ambitious with your fundraising from trusts and foundations, write funding applications on your behalf and upskill your team and volunteers.
  
  
• Monitoring & Evaluation: I can help map your outputs and outcomes, put in place data collection systems and write evaluation reports that will help you understand where you’re having the most impact.

Fees

My day rate is £300 per day.

Every year, I also offer a significantly discounted rate to a small number of micro and small organisations, where I feel my work can really make a difference.
